Not Just For Bridesmaids

While I am in love lately with the whole world of weddings I just wanted to put out a reminder that my mirrors are not just for bridesmaids.  Here are a few that I make as gifts for teachers, friends, sisters and any other woman that may just want to check her pretty face.

How about an old yiddish saying that reminds me that I can't control everything but I can control how I deal with it?  Perfect little gift for anyone going through some stuff.

And these make lovely gifts.  Email me a photo and I can put it on a mirror.  Maybe an old family shot or sweet little newborns?  Love the ones with family pets.   It's all good.

I Love Handmade!

Yep, I love handmade.  And in the case of buying handmade for an engagement or wedding gift.... well it just doesn't get any better.  Why?  Well the odds of the bride receiving duplicate gifts when they are handmade are just about nil. I also know that in time she'll never remember who gave her the toaster oven but she will remember who gave her one of these three gifts that I've selected today.

This is an inspiration book made by Judy at http://misterpenquin.etsy.com/ .  It's a one of a kind wool felted journal.  Wouldn't that be a terrific little book for a bride to carry around to jot ideas in when they hit her?

One of the Ways I Like to Work

I love looking at the color and styles of the 2012 season Bridesmaid dresses.  There are some great designs and some gorgeous color pallets out there.  When a bride sends me a message at my shop,  http://emhgraphics.etsy.com/ and asks me if I can make some gifts for her bridesmaids that will match their dresses, the quick answer is "Yes, I can".  I recently had the most lovliest of brides with that exact request and this was the process.... She said her colors were Sangria and Silver.  I go online and scour the web for the color Sangria.  Did it make me thirsty?  You betcha, but I was on a mission.  These two photos seem to represent that color.

For me the rest is cake after that.  (I reference cake alot, it makes me happy)   These were the two designs I came up with for Sangria and Silver.

She chose the sangria pocket mirrors for her bridesmaids and the silver for her mom, aunts, and future mother in law.  Doesn't matter what age you are.... you still need to check your pretty face.  :)

I charge no extra for designing, it's fun and I love it.  The mirrors make sweet inexpensive gifts to give to the women who are celebrating this happy time in your life, right along with you.

Love, Brides and Chocolate

I'm really excited about my new blog.  Since finding out many of the customers in my pocket mirror shop were brides buying gifts for their bridesmaids I've immersed myself in all things weddings.  Such a fun time in a woman's life but so much to do and for many.... so much money to spend.  I hope to make my writings on various subjects but with an eye towards what I'm learning about the art of getting married and maybe some thoughts on staying married once the wedding is over.  We'll see.  But for now let me say Welcome and please come back and visit when you can.
